We Have a Talker…Almost

Likes: Babbling, laughing, making new friends, bath time
Dislikes: Being put on her playmat when she wants to be in the bouncer, being put in the bouncer when she wants to be on her playmat, not being picked up on demand

In the past month, Marla has proven to be quite the talker, offering all sorts of opinions and commentary throughout each day. There’s a catch however, which is that we don’t understand her just yet. That said, we are very impressed by the amount she has been vocalizing lately and can’t wait (albeit patiently) for her to learn how to actually converse with us.

Another “almost” that we expect to see turn into an accomplishment soon is rolling over from back to front. Marla has almost done it a few times, but hasn’t quite figured out where her second leg needs to go in order to finish the roll.  (Editor’s note:  Between the time this was drafted and when it was queued to post prior to the start of Shavuot, she successfully rolled over.)

Other highlights this month include celebrating her first Mother’s Day and brother Johan’s 5th birthday and receiving her first passport. She continues to make friends with whoever she can establish eye contact with and we are impressed at how calm she is when she gets passed off to total strangers. (Allison promised she was going to try handing off this baby as much as she could to make up for not doing so with Johan in 2020!)
